23rd Canon Lion City Cup

It was a real pleasure to be able to shoot at this Canon Lion City Cup. Every match is filled with great excitement. Our young Lions played with great skills and have done extremely well, coming in 2nd and 3rd in this cup. This year the champion went to CR Flamengo from Brazil, congratulation to them. Through this cup, we are able to see the future stars of soccer rising up, lets hope we see some from Singapore in the near future!

Taiwan Trip 2010

Went for a short break in Taiwan from 14th Dec to 25 Dec 2010. The weather was very good, really missed the weather back here in Singapore. Taiwan is really a beautiful place. Totally fell in love with their mountains and hot spring! Food are also very cheap there. Manage to capture some interesting images stored under “Landscape”.

Won 3rd place for Suntec City F1 photography contest

Just been informed by Suntec City Management yesterday that one of my F1 photos taken in 2009 won 3rd placing. This came as a real surprise, because the result was supposed to be announced before the F1 race in Singapore, but nothing was announced back then.

Singapore Formula 1 GP

This year I got the ticket that allows me to go to the Starting Grid area. The experience is totally different. This time I could see all the happening near the pit lane area. The whole atmosphere of the F1 village is a lot better than last year. This time they have little concerts and performance at different area to entertain the visitors. Looking forward to next year’s race!

Conclusion for YOG Rowing competition.

Today, I witness the conclusion of the rowing competition. FISA is the international federation (IF) for this competition. To promote friendship and interaction among youths from the different country, FISA organised the first relay competition for the youths. All the rowers are split into different teams with their abilities even out in all teams. A team captain is appointed among the youths, he or she will then round up the team to discuss strategies with the team. Language pose the most difficult obstacle for this task, but nevertheless, all the athletes enjoyed the friendly competition.

Rowing – YOG 2010

Today had a chance to shoot at the start pontoon for rowing. Most shots are done with 200F2 and 16-35 with 1D4. The weather is not so good as it was about to rain. Seeing all the athletes giving their best is really heartwarming. They truly showed the spirit of friendship, excellence and respect.

Singapore 2010 – Youth Olympic Games

Had a chance to be up close and personal with the First Youth Olympic Torch. At the same time, 2 students from Paya Lebar Methodist Girls’ School (Secondary) were selected to be part of the torch relay. The students were extremely excited as this is their only chance in their life to be able to run with the torch as a youth! This experience will indeed go down in history for them. 2 more days to YOG, and I am also busy preparing the venue for Rowing, Kayaking and canoeing. Will update with more photos when I have them.

Happy 45th Birthday Singapore

Singapore celebrates her 45th Birthday this year. 2010 is an exciting year for Singapore as she host the first Youth Olympic Game (YOG) in the world. As well as the 3rd Formula 1 night race. These 2 events have help to create huge awareness about Singapore. This year I have the chance to shoot some fireworks from the Marina Reservoir(One of the YOG venue). This place is out of bounce to public and hence, I get to shoot in comfort without the crowd.

SEACON Junior Gymnastics Championships

Had a chance to shoot at the SEACON Junior Gymnastics Championships. This is my first attempt to shoot gymnastics. I went there only with one lens, that is the 200F2. It is a great challenge as 200mm is a bit tight to capture routines performed by the gymnast. I only begin to get the hang of shooting this sport after about 1hr moving around the arena. Singapore did well in this Championship and manage to win the top 3 awards for the Junior Womans competition.
